Is wax a viable way to cast small models?
I want to know if candle wax can be used the make 25mm models from a cast.
I'm using it to sculpt minatures for my dnd group, so they'llbe use regularly and i'm not going for precision just overall effect
depends on the material of your mold. If your mold doesn't stick to wax (or you use a resist) and does not get harmed by the heat of molten wax you can use candle wax. As candle wax is not very hard and can get therefore easily damaged and dirty it is probably not the perfect final material, but that also depends on what you are making a mold for. But candlewax should hold sufficient detail if that is what you are worried about.
