What are the import Laws regarding reptiles?
I had thought it was illegal to import reptiles in the UK, but i recently bought a Mali Uromastyx, and asked for the list of animals the pet shops supplier stocks, as i would like another reptile, and notices some of them were listed as not captive bred. Curious i phoned the company, and found out they are in fact wild caught.
This has angered me somewhat, to think my Munchie was nabbed from the wild where he probably had a family, stuffed in a crate full of other animals, sent over air (probably in poor conditions) and then sent to this company, then the pet shop. That would explain why he was Mal-nourished when i bought him, Thankfully he is allot better now. I just wanted to know if it was illegal? if it is illegal, i will report the company ASAP.
okay first of all they wer listed as not capyive bred right .. so right there it tell you its not illegal if it was they wouldnt tell any one so no need to freak out but you can complian to the company that the pet you bought was not in good health when you bought it
