Airsoft Vs Paintball - Like Airsoft Has A Chance
I most definitely prefer paintball, so why should you listen to me talk about airsoft vs paintball. Of course, if you have read about this topic all over the internet. Fanboys from both sports have been spamming why their sport is best. Well I'm going to try to be different. Not different in the fact that I won't promote paintball, because that would be like asking a dog to not hump its owners leg. Yeah, I love paintball. Quite a bit. And I'm sure that airsoft players love their sport as well.
I'm going to give you all the bare bone facts. Why people love paintball, and why people love airsoft. From there you can decide for yourself.
Reasons for paintball's awesomeness...
-There are paintball venues in almost every major city. You will not have any trouble finding somewhere to play, or someone to play with.
-Not that painful. Sure, you will get a good few bruises, but who complains about those. If anything, bruises are cool war wounds that you can show off to your friends.
Paintball Injuries are almost non-existent, to the point where maybe they are. I have never even seen a paintball injury occur, and I have been playing paintball for many, many years. I dare you to provide evidence of a single paintball injury. And one's that are due to insufficient protection do not count. The only injuries I've heard about are eye injuries because a player is too cool to where a mask.
-Paintball leaves a traceable mark, so you cannot cheat. This is pretty awesome. Splat. RIght in yo face. players can become marked up pretty good, and its always good to see your opponent painted up at the end of the day. Me and my team members each use a different color of paint, just so that we can see a nice design on the peeps that dare go against us. Airsoft on the other hand, well lets just say there are quite a few cheaters. And why not? there's no way to prove that someone got hit. Would you give yourself up, and be the reason for your teams loss? Of course not! Airsoft will go on forever, and nodoby will know who deserves the victory.
Reason to consider airsoft...
-airsoft is cheaper, not that much cheaper in terms of a gun. Because a decent airsoft and paintball gun will run about the same amount of money. Although a top tier paintball gun is way more than a top tier airsoft gun. Premium grade paintball gun costs over 1000 dollars, while the best airsoft gun on the market will only cost about 400 dollars. That is not the main reason for the price difference though, paintballs are just too expensive. And yes pellets or bb's for an airsoft gun are really economical. I admit defeat on this one. Airsoft cost efficiency is a legit argument.
-airsoft looks scarily realistic. It's true. Sometimes you really cannot tell the difference between an airsoft thinga ma jig and an actual real thing. My buddy's neighbour actually called the cops on my bud because the people thought he may have a real firearm. Another reason to be an airsoft fan... I geuss.
VERDICT!!!
Well I'm still going to rep paintball. Do what you want. I don't enjoy pain, and I certainly do not want a neverending game of cheating. Paintball is everywhere, and for good reason, people love it! That being said, if you want a cheaper option, or you have a gun fetish, then airsoft could be for you. But honestly, if you have a gun fetish, just collect real guns. In every way airsoft is simply a poor mans paintball.
